LET US PRAY
There’s a Reason
For every pain that we must bear,
For every burden, every care,
There’s a reason.
For every grief that bows the head,
For every tear-drop that is shed,
There’s a reason.
For every hurt, for every plight,
For every lonely, pain-racked night,
There’s a reason.
But if we trust God as we should,
It all will work out for our good,
He knows the reason.
TOWN HALL MEETING
Last night we had our annual Town Hall meeting. I want to thank all of the parents who made it a priority to attend. It was wonderful to see the church basement full. Many of our new kindergarten families attended too and I believe they got a very good impression of their child’s new school.
SAS IDOL – FUNDS RAISED
As reported in a previous newsletter, the funds raised from the SAS Idol evening were earmarked for a very special purpose – to provide school supplies for an entire school in Sierra Leone, Africa. The children actually raised just over $1,800, but we received a donation cheque recently which we added to this amount and it allowed us to reach the $2,000 goal. We now have the cheque ready to go, and the SAS Idol committee members will be mailing it out within the next few days.

SCHOOL UNIFORM ORDERS
Quite a few parents took advantage of the ordering day in the school last Friday. I would like to apologize for the confusion about the school shirts. When you receive your order, you will notice that it does not come with the school crest on the pocket. It’s not supposed to – this was a misunderstanding with the uniform company and was totally my fault. What we are looking into is a polo shirt for warmer weather, but this has not yet been added to the uniform list. This is the item that will have the crest on the pocket if it becomes part of the uniform policy. Sorry about that!
SPEAKING OF UNIFORMS ……..
If your child is leaving St. Andrew’s this year or has outgrown items that are still in good condition, the PPC would love to have them. We can then offer them at a minimal cost to other parents in the school. We would greatly appreciate any donations you may have.
GRADE 7 FAREWELL
Tomorrow night we say a fond farewell to our Grade 7 students as they prepare to begin the next chapter in their lives. The evening will begin with Mass at 5:00 p.m. followed by dinner in the school gym. I would like to thank the Grade 6 student and parents who have contributed their time, money and talents to making this evening a success. Bravo to all of you – I can’t thank you enough.
KINDERGARTEN ‘GRAD’
Mrs. Tokar has planned a graduation ceremony for the morning and afternoon kindergarten classes. The ‘graduations’ will take place on Monday, June 23rd. I bet the cameras will be flashing that day!
LAST DAY REMINDER
Wednesday, June 25th is the last day for students. It is a noon dismissal.
Have a wonderful week.
With love,
Mrs. Mailley
