LET US PRAY
The following is hymn that the children sang at our first Friday Mass to honour the Sacred Heart of Jesus:
Sweet Heart of Jesus, fount of love and mercy
Today we come they blessings to implore
Oh tough our hearts so cold and so ungrateful
And make them, Lord, thine own for evermore.
Sweet Heart of Jesus we implore
Oh make us love thee more and more.
TOWN HALL MEETING
Parents, so far I have received only a handful of registrations for the Town Hall meeting – Where are all the rest of you! I need you to come to the meeting so that you know what’s going on in your child’s school. I have once again attached the information and registration sheet. Parents, please take the time to attend this very important meeting. We’re looking into another option for our school uniform supplier and you will have the opportunity to vote on this. But you can’t vote if you’re not there!
NEAT UNIFORMS – VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!
As I mentioned last week, we’re having a special fitting day at the school tomorrow from noon until 6 p.m. I’m pleased to announce that the 10% offer still applies. If you don’t want to have to drive to Neat Uniforms, come on down!
SHOP FUNDS – YEAR END
Thank you to the parents who sent in the balance owing on their Shop Funds. We really appreciated you taking the time to send in your cheque. Unfortunately, several families did not take advantage of this opportunity, so the $100 cheques had to be deposited.
FUN DAY
Tomorrow is our annual Fun Day. Mr. T. has organized the day and weather permitting, we’ll be going to the part. However, if it is raining, we’ll have to stay at the school. Once again, our wonderful PPC will be supplying the children with a lunch “to go”. Thanks, PPC. You’re the best!
*The children should wear their gym shorts and t-shirts. If it’s a cold day, sweat pants and tops would be a very good idea.
Please note that this is a noon dismissal day and that the extra uniform fitting day will begin right at noon and go till 6 p.m. We will use the multi-purpose room.
LIBRARY BOOKS
Mrs. Green wishes to remind all parents that we need all library books back by tomorrow. We’ve invested a lot of money into filling our library, and we need you to help us keep the books on the shelves. Many of the books were purchased as a result of all the fundraising you did, so let’s take care of our investment! Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that all books are accounted for.
PARENT APPRECIATION TEA
This special event will take place next Tuesday from 1 till 3 p.m. in the church basement. If you haven’t replied to the invitation, it’s not too late. We’ll leave extra registration forms on the main bulletin board for your convenience.
GRADE SEVENS OFF TO CAMP!
Our Grade Seven class will be leaving for Camp Squeah on Monday morning. This beautiful camp is located just outside of Hope and offers the children exciting activities such as canoeing, rock climbing and archery. Let’s pray that the weather improves by then and that the students have the time of their lives.
THIRD TERM REPORTS
As always, the third term reports will be given out on the last day of school. If for any reason your child is absent that day, the report will be sent to the office and it is then your responsibility to pick it up. We don’t mail them out, nor do we distribute them ahead of time. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
KINDERGARTEN GRAD
Our kindergartens will have their ‘graduation’ ceremony on Monday, June 23rd. Mrs. Tokar has already sent home a correction notice as the date was changed. There will be lots of photo ops and refreshments will be served. Kindergarten parents, you won’t want to miss this very special occasion.
SUPERVISION SCHEDULE
I am so thrilled that many of our existing supervisors have agreed to stay on the schedule for next year. Mrs. Mendoza has worked very hard to fill all of the slots but we still need a couple of parents. If you could help out, please call Mrs. Mendoza directly at 604 301 1610. She would love to hear from you!
LAST SCHOOL MASS OF THE YEAR
As you know, Wednesday, June 25th is the last school day for students. We will have a special school Mass that day at 9:00 a.m. to thank God for a wonderful year and for the many blessings we have received. All of us at St. Andrew’s would love it if parents could join us for this Mass so that we can celebrate together. After Mass, the children will be in the classrooms till 12 o’clock and will be dismissed at that time. Thank you in advance for picking up your child promptly.
Have a wonderful week.
With much love,
Mrs. Mailley
