TOWN HALL MEETING

Please see the attached flyer for details about this important meeting. Remember parents, we’re aiming for 100% attendance. This is the time when we update parents about this year and provide critical information about next year. All of you need to know what’s going on in the school so that we can truly be partners in the children’s education.

NEAT UNIFORMS UPDATE

Several parents have mentioned that they were not very happy with the service they received at Neat Uniforms during discount week. I have since spoken to the owner and he has arranged a fitting day at the school for Friday, June 13th from noon till 6 p.m. If you haven’t yet purchased uniform items, this is a great chance to do so. You will still received 10% off your order. Since many parents will be coming at noon to pick their children up from Fun Day, I thought this time and date would work quite well.

WORK BEE OPPORTUNITY
(This could save you money!)

Due to the fact that there are a number of important jobs still to be done in the school, we’ve planned a special work bee for Saturday, June 14th. This work bee session will earn you double hours. If you register by calling Anu Kainth (604 307 3880) on or before Monday, June 10th, and report to the school at 9 a.m. on the work bee day, we will be happy to adjust your participation hours accordingly. The work bee will be from 9 am - 1 pm.

SHOP FUNDS STATS

I thought you might be interested in knowing the participation rate in our Shop Funds program this year.

· Out of our 166 families, 126 families participated in the program (76%)
· Therefore, almost one quarter of our families did not participate (24%)
· Many families kept right on purchasing even after they achieved their $100 minimum (48%). To those 79 families, Bravo to all of you for your outstanding support.

I am most grateful to the Shop Funds crew who did such a fabulous job and also to Mrs. Paulyn whose foolproof record-keeping system worked so well. The program ran like clockwork! Thanks to all of you for your commitment and dedication.

FUN DAY

This is a reminder that our annual Fun Day will take place on Friday, June 13th. Snacks will be provided by the PPC. Please note that this is a noon dismissal day and that the extra uniform fitting day will begin right at noon and go till 6 p.m.

PANORAMA PICTURE DAY

Usually, we have our panorama done earlier in the year but we had to cancel a couple of times due to scheduling problems. We finally have a date set – Tuesday, June 11th @ 9 a.m.

LAST PRO D DAY FOR 07-08

This is a final reminder that there will be no classes for students, June 9th. This is our planning day for next year.

SCHOOL WEB SITE

I am very excited to report that our school we site will be given a whole new look this summer. One of our parents, Mrs. Garcia, will coordinate the project. Our goal is to provide a much more functional web site that parents and students can use to access information such as upcoming events and trips. We’re even planning an on-line Shop Funds service so that parents can place orders using their credit cards. Eventually, there may be no need to sent home newsletters or reminder notices, as they’ll all be available on-line! We are confident that this will be a huge convenience for our families. Each family will be provided with a special e-mail account so that they can log on to the website when necessary. Paper copies of ‘XTRA! XTRA!’ may be a thing of the past!
