LET US PRAY
A Celtic Blessing
May God the Father bless us in all that we do this day.
May Jesus, Beloved Son of the Father,
bless is as we go our way.
May God’s Holy Spirit bless us in every
thought, in every deed, in every word we say.
May Blessed Mary, Mother of Jesus,
bless us, and protect us, and draw us to pray.
May we be blessed by the light of Christ
May a spark be kindled in each heart to
flicker like a candle flame.
May Christ fill us with light so that we may
illuminate a dark place, for His sake.
Amen
TOWN HALL MEETING
This is an important reminder that our annual Town Hall meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 18th. It is critically important that each family is represented as we have decisions to make about the school uniform. Parents will be given the opportunity to vote at this time. It is my sincere hope that all parents make every effort to ensure that at least one parent is at this meeting. Together, we can make our school great. Let’s aim for 100% attendance at the meeting!
WALKATHON – WINNERS
There was great excitement last Friday during our walkathon prize assembly. Not only did the children receive the prizes they’d earned, but most of them had their names entered in the class draw, one entry for every $10 raised. We also had a ‘Special Package’ draw as well as a grand prize draw. Here are the names of the lucky winners:
Class Baskets
Kindergarten – Francis Tabag
Grade 1 – Kristofer LaGuardia
Grade 2 – Jasmeen Malhi
Grade 3 – Marcus Leeson
Grade 4 – Matthew Mendoza
Grade 5 – Madison Reyes
Grade 6 – Jonathan Raneses
Grade 7 – Nikko Cano
Special package winner – Marychelle Bitoon
Grade prize winner – Darren Ragasa
*Very Special thanks and congratulations to Kathy Macarayan whose design was selected for this year’s T-shirts.
Once again, we owe a debt of gratitude to our fantastic PPC who sponsored the gift baskets. Special thanks to Rica Taroy, our terrific ‘basket wrapper’!
SCHOOL SUPPLIES 08-09
School supply order forms were due on Wednesday. If you haven’t sent your child’s order in, please make a point of doing so right away.
Last week, the newsletter stated that it is part of our school policy that school supplies must be ordered through the school. In spite of this, I have heard from one of the teachers that some families have done their own purchasing. This is not an option.
WORK BEE
Parents are invited to attend the work bee this coming Saturday at 9 a.m. This is a great chance to earn hours. We need as many parents as possible as we have some special projects to get done.
TRACK AND FIELD
Thank you to the parents who took the time to bring their concerns to me about the CISVA track meet. I very much appreciate your input and comments. I felt very badly for the students who were so disappointed. I have already apologized to the children concerned and while I know that nothing will make up for the children’s disappointment, please be assured that this situation will not happen again.
Parents, please note that students who will be attending next week’s track meet will be bringing home a permission form today.
SHOP FUNDS
We have now completed our Shop Funds statements for this school year. You will receive your statement tomorrow. We ask that you check it carefully and call us right away if you have any concerns. This year we have also included a letter of explanation. It is very important that you read this letter and that you contact Mrs. Paulyn immediately if you have any questions or concerns. It is a simple matter for us to check our records.
PARTICIPATION HOURS
Please read the following information carefully:
Mrs. Salacup has provided us with the parent participation record sheets for hours completed to this point. We know that there are four weeks of school left, so we have taken this into account. If you have not completed your hours and have no opportunity of doing so by the end of the year, we will send out a letter informing you about which cheques will be chased.
Please note that parents are responsible for recording their own hours, so your statement reflects the exact number of hours that were entered in the participation binder.
It is very important that we hear from you immediately if you believe that the billing amount is not accurate. Last year, a few parents ignored the deadline, and that caused a major problem.
FUN DAY
This very popular event will take place on Friday, June 13th. Snacks will be provided by the PPC. Please note that this is a noon-dismissal day.
JUNE CALENDAR
You will receive your June calendar tomorrow along with your Shop Funds and participation statements. Please make important events on your calendar.
One final reminder to call us right away if you have any concerns regarding your statements!
Have a wonderful week.
With love,
Mrs. Mailley
