LET US PRAY
Risen Lord and Master,
You know me better than I know myself:
Speak and help me to listen;
Call me into your life,
That with you I may possess your
Father's kingdom.
Give me insight to recognize you in the
moment of Your speaking, ande to value
the time of your calling;
That through all my days I may rejoice
with you in the power of God,
And receive a share in the glory of His
victory and love.
FIRST COMMUNION
Please pray for our Grade 2 and PREP students who will me making their First Holy Communion this coming Saturday. This year we are most grateful to the PPC for taking on the job of preparing for and hosting the reception in the church basement following the Mass. Also, we extend our very sincere thanks to the intermediate choir for their outstanding contribution to both Confirmation and First Communion and to the parents who have been so loyal all year long.
WALKATHON
The children were excite this week to receive their Walkathon pledge forms. Please sign and return the permission forms this week. This year we've providede sample sizes for walkathon t-shirts. They're displayed in the main foyer of the school for your convenience. Please not that we've included a size calculator at the bottom of the pledge sheet. It is important that this part of the yellow sheet is checked off so that we have the t-shirt sizes on file. On Friday we'll have a special assembly for students to let them know about this year's prizes.
Please note - we need to know exactly who will be coming to the walkathon so that parents can be assigned to checkpoints and the PPC can organize lunch.
SAD NEWS
We were all saddened this week to learn of the passing of Mrs. Black's husband, John. He had been in very fragile health for some time, and passed away peacefully early on Monday morning. Mrs. Black has asked for prayers from all o fthe St. Andrew's community. Our First Friday Mass this week will be offered for the intention of Mrs. Black and her family.
SPRING FAIR THANKS
We were very blessed this year to have such strong support from our parents who helped out in so many ways at the Spring Fair. There are too many people to mention by name, but you know who you are. Please accept my grateful thanks for all your hard work in making the day such a success. Bravo, parents!
PREPARING FOR KINDERGARTEN
Mrs. Green and Mrs. Tokar are hard at work preparing for this special event that's been scheduled for Friday, May 23rd. This is for our 3 and 4 year olds. Registration forms have been sent home. Please call the office if you've misplaced yours.
INTERNET SAFETY MEETING
Next week we'll send home the registration forms for this important meeting. If your child spends time on the computer, particularly on sites such as MSN messenger, Face Book, etc., you do not want to miss this very informative meeting. You need to be informed about how to monitor your child's use of the computer and about he potential dangers of some web sites. Although all parents are most welcome to attend, it is particularly urgent that those of you whose children are regular Internet users make the effort to come to the meeting. Shandra Feenam, the presenter, will provide an excellent Power Point packed with good information and will answer any questions you may have.
ST. ANDREW'S IDOL!
Yesterday we sent out order forms for tis special event. If you're planning to attend, please send in your ticket order promptly. As suggested on the form, ifyou're unable to attend, the Student Council would greatly appreciate a small donation to their very worthy cause.
The Student Council has worked very hard on this event and is hoping for a great turnout. Judges for this event will be announced in next week's newsletter. There will be trophies for the winners in the different categories as well as certificates for all participants.
*If you could help with running the concession stand for this event, please call and leave a message for the Student Council.

*Once you purchase uniform items, it is very important to keep your receipt in case of any problems. If there is a defect in a sweater, for example, take it back right away. Neat Uniform has promised that the item will be replaced.
Have a wonderful week,
