LET US PRAY

As we begin this New Year, the following prayer seems very appropriate:

Bodily Blessed,
You are the Body of Christ,
Go and be hands;
Reaching out to the needy;
Holding the friendless;
and willingly receiving God's love.
Go and be feet:
Walking the extra mile;
Striving for others;
and humbly letting Jesus wash you.
Go and be tongues:
Chatting the good news;
Welcoming all
And allowing God's Spirit to speak to you.

You are the Body of Christ. Praise God.

VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

We are presently accepting applications for the 2008-2009 kindergarten class. If you have any children who will be eligible for kindergarten (born in 2003) please fill out the attached form then come into the office and fill out the full application form. Also, please inform any friends or relatives who may be interested in applying that they should come to the school office at their earliest convenience. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Don't delay! - last year some of our families left it till the last minute and almost missed getting a spot!

PRIMARY CHRISTMAS PLAY (SPECIAL THANKS)

As most of you know, the annual primary Christmas play was a huge success. In the last newsletter, I thanked the staff for all their work, but I'd also like to thank the wonderful PPC team for the great job they did in organizing the food and selling tickets for the 50/50 draw and raffle. They're a great group and I don't know what I would do without them. Thanks, PPC - you're the best!

CORRECTION

Somehow when I thanked all of the Shop Funds team in December, Mrs. Trans name was missed out. Mrs. Tran (mother of Amanda and Bryan) works with Mrs. Paulyn each week to do in-school selling and is a very important part of the team.

* We are looking for at least one more parent for our Shop Funds program. Please call Mrs. Paulyn at the school immediately if youare able to help. Training will be provided.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

We're still waiting for some parents to send back the green forms regarding uniform policy. If you have not yet sent back the signed form, you will receive another copy of the form and policy with this newsletter. Please make an effort to sign the form and send it back with your child as soon as possible.

PARENT SUPERVISION URGENT!

We're still looking for a few parents who could help us out with a couple of morning spots on the supervision schedule. Please contact Mrs. Mendoza or let us know at the office if you can help. The safety of the children is of the utmost importance and we would be most grateful to parents who are willing to help.

INFORMATION UPDATE

If you have moved house or changed your phone number recently, please notify us right away so that we can update our records. In the event of an emergency, it is critically important that we are able to get in touch with parent's quickly.

INCOME TAX RECEIPTS

Later this month you will be receiving your income tax receipt. Please check that all the information is correct and call the school immediately if thre are any problems.

WORK BEE

This coming Saturday, we will have our regular work bee at St. Andrew's For those parents who are regulare attenders, please note that beginning this Saturday, no children are allowed. It is very difficult to get all the jobs completed efficiently when the children are running through the school. Also, there is a safety issue.

PARENT WORKSHOP

Please check the main notice board for details about an upcoming parenting course called "The Power to Parent". The presenter is Gordon Newfeld. Gordon is an expert on the subject of parenting. I had the privilege of attending one of his courses a few years ago and it was outstanding.

A HUGE THANK YOU

On behalf of all of the St. Andrew's staff, please accept our heartfelt thanks for all the beautiful cards and gifts we received at Christmas. You really spoiled us! We are so grateful for your kindness and deeply touched by your thoughfulness. Thank you so very much.

A NEW BABY!

Mrs. Mallari has just announced that she is expecting her second baby. The baby is due in early July. Congratulations to the Mallari family. Big brother Jacob is thrilled!

HOT LUNCH

The PPC is presently considering healthy options for the Hot Lunch program. We are looking into purchasing ovens so that the food can be prepared on site. Once final decisions have been made, I'll let you know right away.

Happy New Year to each one of you.

Have a wonderful week.

With Love,

Mrs. Mailley.
