IMPORTANT REMINDER!

The children will be dismissed at noon tomorrow. Please make a point of picking up your child promptly.

PRIMARY CHRISTMAS PLAY

The big performance is tonight! The children are very excited and eager to perform for their families. Mrs. Black, Miss Tupchong, Miss Resendes, Mrs. Mallari, Mrs. Tokar, Mrs. Pay, Mrs. Fernandes and Mrs. Scali have all worked so hard to prepare th children as well as the sets and costumes. Also, a big thank you to Miss Ignacio and her students – they spent long hours in the gym setting up and running the sound system and making banners. Bravo to all of these dedicated teachers and students!

Parents, the children will be taken back to their classrooms after the play, so you need to go over to the school and pick up your child, then return to the gym for refreshments.

*Please remember that we are selling raffle tickets and 50/50 tickets tonight, so bring along your wallets!

SHOP FUNDS

Our Shop Funds program has worked beautifully this first term. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the terrific team of parents who have worked under the direction of Mrs. Paulyn to make the success of the program possible. Sincere thanks to:

Ruth Fernandez (coordinator)
Precy Aguirre
Milet Jimenez
Christina Dela Cruz
Sabrina Leeson

These ladies have worked above and beyond their participation hours and we are most grateful to all of them.

SISTERS OF ATONEMENT PROJECT

Our students have done a wonderful job of bringing donations for the Sisters. They had fun using our special sticker graph to record their donations. Thanks to all of you for your terrific support. If you haven’t already sent a donation, it’s not too late as we won’t be delivering them to the Sisters till after the holidays.

SCHOOL UNIFORM UPDATE

Last week I sent home a copy of the uniform policy and asked parents to sign the tear-off portion and send it back. So far, less than half of our families have done so! I do need to have the form sent back from each and every family. If you still haven’t done so, please send your signed form back right away.

I’ve had the chance to speak to some parents regarding uniform, and it seems that there has been a misunderstanding about school blouses and shirts. Polo shirts are not a school uniform. However, if parents have purchased them, the children may continue to wear them, but only till the end of this school year. Thank you for your help in ensuring that our children wear their uniform with pride and respect.

PARENT SUPERVISION

Just a reminder that Dorris Mendoza will be in the Philippines for the first three weeks of January. Jing Pacania will be in charge of the program until Dorris returns. If you are on the supervision team and you need to contact Jing, her number is 604 321 9704.

Mrs. Mendoza would like to thank her team for the great work they’ve done this term and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are sure that the rest of the school year will run just as smoothly, thanks to the dedication of our great team of supervisors. Well done!

WORK BEE

I would like to thank all of the parents who participated in the work bees this term under the direction of Anu Kainth. Our school is looking better all the time! For next term, there will be many more projects to do so we look forward to lots of successful work bees. Go Team!

CONGRATULATIONS, MARK!

We are proud to announce that Mark Magtibay, one of our grade 7 students, has been accepted into the British Columbia Boys’ Choir and this Christmas, has performed at several locations including the Chan Centre at UBC. Well done, Mark, and thanks Mrs. Black for nominating him!

WALKING CLUB NEWS

The walking club is brand new this year, and what a year they’ve had so far! This great group of twenty intermediate students and four staff members walks every Monday. In addion, they have also collected money and goods for several worthy causes throughout the term, including sending money to Antonette (our sponsored child in the Philippines), cans for the Food Bank and a donation for the Christmas Bureau which we topped up to $250. Keep up the good work, walkers!

A CHRISTMAS WISH

During this special, holy season, I wish each and every one of you a wonderful Christmas filled with God’s blessings. I pray that you will love and appreciate each other through good times and bad times. Always remember how much God loves you and how special you are. I’ll be thinking of all of you when I’m in Scotland with my family. See you in January!

Much love and God bless,

Mrs. Mailley
