LET US PRAY
This week's special prayer is for our incredible students who bring us so much joy.
Dear God, We thank you for the wonderful students we have here in our school.
May we help them learn to recognize the gifts they possess and to never underestimate
their potential. May we give them the confidence and knowledge they need to achieve their
dreams.
Thank you, Lord, for the contributions our students have made to this community. May
they be blessed for all that they do to make the world a better place. May we always
support them as they risk, as they give, as they grow.
Amen.
SUPERVISION - URGENT!
Parents, we are looking for a few people to fill the last remaining slots on our supervision schedule. Out of our 166 families, surely we can find three more families who can help. If you are available on Tuesday or Wednesday from 10:20 till 11:20 or Friday from noon until 1 p.m. Please call Mrs. Mendoza right away, (604-301-1610).
We really need your help. You only need to commit to one hour. There's a huge plus too - if you're on the supervision schedule, that's your participation hours taken care of.
SATURDAY WORK BEE
We now have a regular group of Work Bee parents who are doing a great job in the school. This team meets every three weeks. The next work bee is scheduled for November 24th @ 9 a.m. If you have chosen to do unscheduled participation, you are still welcome to attend. There are always lots of jobs to do.
PARISH FEAST DAY
Friday, November 30th is the feast of St. Andrew. This is a very special occasion in our community. Mass and dinner will take place on Saturday, December 1st. We are very pleased to announce that Archbishop Miller, our new archbishop coadjutant, will preside at the Mass and will attend the dinner reception. We have plenty of tickets at the office, and at $12 each, they're a great deal. There will be roast beef dinner with lots of other choices. Please don't delay - tickets are going fast and we don't want our parents to be disappointed. This will be the new archbishop's first visit to our parish. Let's make sure he gets a warm welcome from as many of us as possible.
SHOP FUNDS NEWS
As you know, we're doing a monthly draw this year ot recognize all those who have participated in the Shop Funds program. Each participant's name is entered in the draw once Mrs. Paulyn finishes recording all the purchases. The lucky winner for the month of October is the Operana family. The prize is worth $20 worth of certificates for Blockbuster. Remember, you can't win it if you don't participate! We are pleased to report that the profit for October was $1865.53. Thanks to all the parents who are so loyal about participating.
I hope that you've had the chance to look at the Christmas order form. Please remember that the deadline for ordering is 9 a.m. on November 30th.
HELPING THE NEEDY
Advent is fast approaching and as always, the St. Andrew's community gets involved in helping various organizations. Please remember that when we involve our children in these types of projects, it teaches them about compassion and generosity. Next week we'll send home information about the Sisters of Atonment. "Christmas 365 Days a Year" project. Each class selects a specific item (e.g. soap). Then, each student in class brings their donation.

HOT LUNCH CORRECTION
The correct dates for November Hot Lunches are November 14th and 28th. The mistake was all mine. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience and remember to make the changes on your monthly calendar.
Sorry, Mrs. Hipolito!
A NEW BABY!
We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Green, our teacher librarian, is now the proud grandmother of a beautiful baby girl. Mom and baby are doing well. This is Mrs. Green's second grandchild.
SPRING FAIR
This year we will be forming several parent committees to prepare for the Spring Fair. This is a great opportunity for parents doing unscheduled participation to get lots of hours. Our Parent Participation Coordinator on the P.E.C., Mr. Patrick Chang, has organized an information/sign-up sheet. I will send it home with next week's newsletter.
Have a wonderful week,
With love,
Mrs. Mailley
