LET US PRAY

This week's prayer has been specially chosen for parents of daughters. It will help you to remember what a very important job God has given to you to - to be the parents of your children.

Lord,as I hold her in my arms and kiss her tiny fingers

I wonder if anyone in the world has ever been as happy as I am now!

She's a little poem

Short but beautiful -

And several years from now she'll be a story.

Lord, I'm trusting you to write the plot.

Then at last she'll be a book-lenth novel

Translated into many languages.

I am confident of this, Lord

For you alone are both Author and Publisher.

HELP WANTED FOR SUPERVISION - URGENT!!!

Mrs. Mendoza and I are looking for parents to fill morning recess slots for our supervision schedule. We need parents who can come from 10:30 till 11:30 for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If you can commit to any one of these days, please call Mrs. Mendoza immediately at 604 301 1610.

Parents, please remember that the job you have committed to do is one of the most important in the school - the care and safety of our precious children is at stake. Therefore, it is critically important that you are on schedule, you are here for each and every shift that you have committed to do.

IMPORTANT REMINDER

Tomorrow is a Pro D day, so there will be no classes for students. Our staff will be attending a literacy workshop at St. Joseph's school.

SATURDAY WORK BEE

Our next work bee is scheduled for Saturday, November 3rd. It is very important that team members call Anu Kainth and let her know you're planning to attend. That way, we can organize the morning efficiently (Anu can be reached at 604-307-3880).

PARENT SURVEY

Thank you to all the parents who took the time during last week's conferences to complete our short survey. For those parents who did not complete the survey, I've sent home a copy with this newsletter. If those parents could return it as soon as possible, it will allow us to compile the results that I will publish next week.

BOOK FAIR

Unfortunately, we did not have a good response to our request for parent helpers, so we're planning to form a Parent Book Fair Committee for next year. We'll be looking for someone who is organized and efficient to head up this team. If you are that person, pelase see Mrs. Green or call the office right away!

NEAT UNIFORMS UPDATE

If you're experiencing any difficulties with regard to uniforms or have not had your call returned by Neat Uniforms, please call me at the school and I will help.

GOSPEL BAND PERFORMANCE

As mentioned in the previous newsletter, we have tickets at the school for this performance. Some of our older students have been invited to participate in the concert, so make sure you get your tickets soon.

LOST AND FOUND

Each week Grade 4 students clear out our Lost and Found bins and we're always amazed at the number of articles that pile up. Please make a point of labeling your child's clothing and encouraging your child to check the Lost and Found for missing articles. I feel very badly for parents when we find brand new uniform items that no one has come to claim.

SHOP FUNDS NEWS

Please remember that we have moved our Shop Funds in-school selling day from Friday to Thursday. This way we won't miss days due to Friday holidays or Pro D days.

HALLOWE'EN FUN AT ST. ANDREW'S

As usual, we'll have our Hallowe'en parade on October 31st. The parade will take place in the gym 12:10 this year to accommodate the early dismissal at 2:30 pm. Student must wear their uniforms to school and bring their cotume in a bag, as we will be having regular classes in the morning.

This is also a Hot Lunch day. We hav arranged to serve lunch at 11 a.m. to fit in all the afternoon activities.

If you can help out with the primary activity stations, please call Blanquita Monay, our PPC president, and let her know (604-325-7409).

A NEW BABY!

We are delighted to announce a new addition to the D'Rozario family. Bay Kevin Patrick arrived safely and he and mom are doing well. Congratulations to mom, dad and big sister Rochelle (Grade 2) who is so proud of hre new baby brother .
